Toddlers who have already passed infancy still have special nutritional requirements as they are in a period of intense growth. The body length of a child in this age is on average twice as long as on the day of its birth.

formula takes into account that a young child needs on average 3 times more calcium and 7 times more vitamin D than an adult.
